This unit is an approved child protection training course required by government protocol and applies to workers in a range of job roles providing services to children and young people in childcare, education, community services and health contexts.

It is designed to build awareness and provide the education required to identify, respond, support and protect children and young people who are at risk of harm. It provides participants with an awareness of child abuse and neglect including the indicators of the different types and dynamics of abuse as they may apply to age, gender, disability, culture and sexuality.

Completing this course, students will understand the wider context of child protection within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Federal and state/territory legal requirements as well as the ethical considerations and duty of care responsibilities.

Videos must be of good quality and clearly demonstrate the tasks being undertaken. This online non-accredited course is designed for individuals working in sports trainer roles in the Australian sport industry who need to refresh their knowledge and skills on the strategies to prevent sport-specific injuries and manage injuries, illnesses and medical conditions. This includes applying taping for ongoing injury prevention and post-injury support. 

Course Content

This course requires the student to submit 3 videos demonstrating the correct taping technique for

  • Thumb

  • Knee

  • Ankle

Please Note:  this is a non-accredited course and upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. 

The course is delivered 100% online

Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies

    • Self-Paced – It is expected students may complete the course within 3-4 hours (depending on experience levels) This can be completed over a number of sessions. Your course progress will be saved.

    • Students are expected to complete all learning and assessment activities within six (6) months of enrolment. Failure to complete all requirements may result in your enrolment being disabled/cancelled.
