Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (includes CPR)

This practical training course is designed for workers in an education and care setting, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond to first aid emergencies. The training is aligned with legal and workplace requirements, Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, and other peak clinical bodies in Australia.

Participants will learn to identify signs of illness or injury, access emergency services, and safely provide first-aid treatment using action plans, equipment, and resources. This includes CPR, defibrillation, an autoinjector for anaphylaxis, asthma medication, immobilisation for envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, bleeding and shock, and other conditions.

The course also covers basic anatomy and physiology, including the differences between adults, children, and infants in relation to CPR. Participants will also learn how to manage an infant or child with an acute illness, convey incident details to parents, caregivers, and emergency services, and complete incident documentation.
