Conduct Manual Tasks Safely
Workplace injuries related to manual handling tasks can be a common occurrence. That’s why it’s crucial to understand how to undertake these tasks safely. Employees risk making mistakes and suffering from serious injuries without proper training, especially when working with hazardous substances or activities.
This course provides comprehensive training on manual handling techniques, risk assessment, and control measures. Participants will learn to identify potentially hazardous manual tasks and the associated risk factors. They will also gain knowledge of the body’s movement function, proper posture, and positioning techniques, as well as how to recognise and report symptoms of an injury.
The skills taught in this course comply with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards, and industry codes of practice, such as the Hazardous manual tasks code of practice. After completing this course, you will have the confidence and knowledge to safely perform manual handling tasks and minimise the risk of workplace injury.
