Course Set 22556VIC (Asthma) & 22578VIC (Anaphylaxis)

Course set Asthma & Anaphylaxis

This course has been designed for individuals who are required to provide first aid to a person experiencing asthma and anaphylaxis until the arrival of medical assistance.  This means identifying the triggers, signs and symptoms and following the standard first aid procedures to administer medication according to the condition.

Completing all requirements of this course allows the student to develop risk management and risk minimisation strategies for individuals diagnosed at risk of asthma and anaphylaxis in the workplace. This includes the development and implementation of pre-emergency risk assessment/management and the development and implementation of individual management plans.

This course provides nationally recognised training for workers, or nominated workplace first aiders, from any industry sector and addresses giving care to adults and children in the workplace who are diagnosed as being at risk or displaying signs/symptoms.

** Some specific industries require additional training, such as childcare workers, school teachers and other related industries.

Who's the course for?

First aid training offers numerous benefits to individuals.

It equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide immediate medical assistance in emergency situations, potentially saving lives. It boosts confidence and empowers individuals to take action when faced with accidents, injuries, or sudden illnesses.

Additionally, first aid training enhances personal safety awareness, enabling individuals to prevent accidents and minimize risks in their surroundings. It also promotes a sense of responsibility and community engagement, as trained individuals can actively contribute to the well-being of their families, friends, and the wider community.

Finally, first aid training can be invaluable in various settings, such as the workplace, schools, or outdoor activities, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for everyone involved.

There are many benefits for Corporate groups and businesses to provide first aid training to their staff and teams.

Firstly, it promotes a culture of safety and preparedness, fostering a proactive approach to health and well-being. By training employees in first aid, workplaces can create a safer environment and reduce the risk of accidents or injuries. Secondly, having trained individuals in first aid increases the likelihood of immediate and appropriate medical response in case of emergencies. This prompt action can significantly reduce the severity of injuries and improve overall outcomes.

Additionally, first aid training enhances teamwork and communication among employees, as they learn to coordinate and support each other during critical situations. Moreover, organisations that prioritise first aid training demonstrate a commitment to employee welfare and satisfaction, leading to higher morale and loyalty.

Lastly, first aid training in workplaces can fulfill legal requirements, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
